Your Presence My Present
About Me

The year I entered secondary school, it was a Christian school, and that was the first time I heard "Jesus"! During weekly assemblies, the whole school sang hymns together, and I would silently shed tears. That's when I learned to pray. Throughout my secondary school years, my diary was filled with the thoughts of a young girl, and at the end, I would always write, "In the name of the Lord, Amen!" It wasn't until I was in my early twenties that I stepped into church for the first time. The first words I heard God speak in my heart were: "Wait for God." It was the first time I had ever heard those three words, but I seemed to understand their meaning instantly. That time, I prayed in my room, weeping bitterly. In my prayer, I forgave my father and friends. For the first ten years in church, like many brothers and sisters, I desperately wanted to know God. I had morning prayers Monday through Friday, small group prayers on Saturdays, and worship services on Sundays. Later, I also attended a theology program full-time (though I couldn't complete the course due to pregnancy). That period was a time when I was very close to God. On my journey of following God, I experienced many answered prayers. Of course, I also experienced times of confusion and sadness. I was raised by my maternal grandmother, who loved me very much. I first prayed for her when I was in middle school. One year during the Lunar New Year, she suffered a stroke and was hospitalized. I knelt by her bedside for the first time to pray for her. Thank God, she was later discharged and gradually learned to walk. After I decided to believe in Jesus in my twenties, my greatest wish was that my maternal grandparents would also believe in Jesus. Strangely, when I shared the gospel with them, I learned that people had been coming to their door to share the gospel with them, and my grandparents had also come to believe in Jesus! In the following years, my grandmother seemed to have some symptoms of Alzheimer's. Although she didn't remember some things, she still recognized my voice immediately. She would say while eating, "Thank you, Jesus Christ!" In 2019, my grandmother was hospitalized again. One morning I had a dream. When I woke up, I said to God the Father, "Thank you, God the Father, for saving my grandmother when she had her stroke and enabling her to believe in Jesus." In the years that followed, due to diabetes and another stroke, my grandmother lost her sight, could not walk, and lost many teeth. I have always prayed for my grandmother's longevity. If Heavenly Father truly intends to take Grandma away, I let go, only wishing that she departs peacefully and goes to His side. After this prayer, Grandma left us that very noon. Incredibly, the entire sequence of events from the prayer to receiving the phone call from my family was exactly the same as in my dream, even the sorrowful, hurried tone of their voices was identical. I only woke up from the dream and the prayer while rushing home to pack my bags after hanging up the phone! Later, I met Grandpa and other relatives. Grandpa told me that about ten days before Grandma was admitted to the hospital, she suddenly said: "I want to go to Jesus." Those words are so important to me! Because I myself lacked faith, and my grandmother was sometimes lucid and sometimes delirious during that time, did she truly believe in Jesus? I often reflect on my childhood prayers for her and her journey to heaven. How good is Heavenly Father! In the years that followed, I experienced miscarriage and moving. Each experience truly taught me that human comfort and companionship are indeed precious in times of hardship. However, only when God Himself visits us personally and speaks to us can He truly pull us out of the depths of despair and rekindle hope in our hearts! Your Presence, My Present. God's presence is the most beautiful gift! I no longer strive to be God's obedient child. Now I express my truest self face-to-face with God. Whether I'm confident or weak, unhappy or resentful, or too angry to pray to God, my Heavenly Father always knows. His word, His presence, can soothe me. I know He accepts my imperfections. And I, too, am learning to accept my imperfections. During this time as a stay-at-home mom, I started designing gifts and electronic resources for the church. When I first became a believer, I hoped to be a full-time church worker. However, with family plans and God's guidance, if I can use my limited talents to serve God and others, then I've fulfilled my wish. Thank you for reading! This is just part of my story! You are welcome to share your experiences! Let us share God's beauty and love together! May God's grace be with us every day! In Jesus' name we pray! Amen!
